Editors’ Note
What defines Issue 2 is how it questions and remakes everything that defines us—our minds, our bodies, our relationships to each other. The images strung together subvert expectation, lending to questions about what each written work’s world—and thus, our world—is composed of. The transitions between lines and sentences lead to directions rarely explored. New forms emerge from the empty spaces, slashes, and line breaks. Issue 2 shines a new light on all that which matters to us – familial bonds, the mundane and magic, and the ways we see ourselves.
Biochar Magazine’s second issue was not a labour performed alone. We want to thank, with deep sincerity, our wonderful contributors for their luminous writing. As for our editors, we are grateful for their thoughtful reviews and evaluations. To all of our readers, we are immensely grateful for your attention and time. We hope you enjoy Issue 2!
